Koh Tao is a small and isolated island with very limited government services. This has made the running of a luxury resort and spa an especially challenging undertaking. Rising to this task we have developed several systems to ensure our guests of an exclusive and luxurious stay at Jamahkiri.

Koh Tao has frequent water shortages but thanks to our desalination works we can ensure our guests of clean water all year round. Our desalination system is so efficient that the water running through Jamahkiri is free from all bacteria and is safe for drinking.

Besides frequent water shortages, Koh Tao’s electrical grid is particularly unstable. Many resorts are unable to supply electricity 24 hrs per day and fall prey to frequent black-outs. Four, 150 KW, John Deere generators ensure our guests of a stable supply of energy 24 / 7.

Although our generators have enough capacity to run every aspect of Jamahkiri’s electrical needs, we also try to do our share to minimise environmental impact. Each suite has a solar power unit and the entire resort and spa’s water is heated by the sun.

Our swimming pool benefits from the desalination works and ensures our guests of the freshest swimming water imaginable.
