The gulf of Thailand has a handful of exceptional dive sites, all of which lie within one hour of our luxurious and powerful speedboat. When one thinks of the Gulf’s truly fantastic dives, four locations come to mind; Sail Rock, Chumphon Pinnacle, South West Pinnacle and Shark Island

Chumphon Pinnacle
Southwest Pinnacle
Shark Island
White Rock
Twin Rocks

Sail Rock is located 25 kilometers from Koh Tao, and is without a doubt the Gulf’s most famous dive site. It is a limestone pinnacle rising from a depth of 40m to 15m above the water’s surface. The most renowned feature on this site is “the chimney,” a vertical swim through which ascends from 18m to 9m. The walls are covered with encrusting organisms and the bottom, at 24 – 40+m is comprised of sand and rubble. This is one of the most common places to see whale sharks. In addition, many types of reef fish, huge schools of jacks, batfish, barracudas, and other pelagics can be seen. Moray eels and banded coral shrimp inhabit the crevices. Whale sharks visit from February until October.

Southwest Pinnacle is a series of submerged boulders approximately 13 kilometers away from Koh Tao, which translates to about 15 minutes by speedboat. The odd Whale Shark and Leopard Shark encounter is also a possibility. The Dive Site itself is magnificent with lots of multi colored black coral, large potato and brown marbled groupers, moray eels and much much more. Shark Island rests less then one kilometre from our resort. Expect to see several types of Angel, Butterfly, Surgeon, Trigger, Puffer, Porcupine and Banner fishes. Large groupers and barracuda patrol the outer fringes and Black and White Tip Reef Sharks can be spotted on the deeper part of the site. The Southern End of the island boats a beautiful soft coral garden on account of the usually moderate to strong current running there.

White Rock
