• Does the resort provide free transfers?
We do not provide free transfers to and from Koh Samui. These can either be booked directly online (see above) or organized by us and added to your bill.
We do provide free transfers from and to the pier in Koh Tao upon arrival and departure. A member of staff carrying a Jamahkiri signboard with your name would be waiting to assist you with your luggage and take you to our comfortable office next to the pier. From there it is a distinctive 10 minute ride into the island by air-conditioned 4X4 pickup truck where you can enjoy breathtaking views before arriving at the resort for a complimentary welcome drink.
• How far is Jamahkiri from the pier / town?
Koh Tao has three main areas which offer facilities for visitors – Chalok Baan Kao is 1 km away, Mae Haad (pier area) is 2 km away and Sairee Beach is 3 km away. All three are less than 10-15 minutes by car / taxi from the resort.
• Does the resort have a free shuttle service?
Yes, we offer a free shuttle service once every hour both from the resort to our office in Mae Haad (pier area), as well as back to the resort from 8:30am to 9 pm. Our shuttles are air-conditioned 4X4 pickups.
• Is the resort on the beach?
Just about. The resort has its own small but comfortable private beach with sun loungers and umbrellas. The island’s most beautiful beach, Thian Og Bay, is less than 50 meters away, directly over the water from us and can be reached easily on foot in less than 5 minutes, or kayak, snorkeling and our marina’s small fiberboat.
• What is the difference between the rooms and pavilions?
All our accommodation was designed to the highest standards and equipped with all the modern facilities and amenities you expect from a 5 star resort such as 24 hour electricity and hot water, air-conditioning, etc. The difference between the rooms and pavilions is in their location. Our pavilions and suites are independent, bungalow style accommodation located along the sloping hillside ending in Thian Og Bay. As part of a larger structure, our Deluxe Rooms are hosted in our new building which is located directly on the seafront.
• Will we really have a sea view?
Absolutely. All our rooms, pavilions and suites have full, uninterrupted, stunning sea views.
• Can we do some snorkeling at the resort?
Yes, and we highly recommend it! Many fish, some quite exciting to see while simply snorkeling in shallow water, can be found directly in front of the resort in Thian Og Bay. We offer rental of masks, snorkels, fins and free life jackets if needed at our diving club which is located right on the water’s edge.
• What else can we do during our stay?
Where to begin?! With its clear, warm, safe tropical waters, extensive, different dive sites and beautiful corals, fish and sea life, Koh Tao is famous for its beauty under the water as well as over it. While staying with us, guests can enjoy scuba diving in Koh Tao, whether as a beginner just looking to try it out or interested in becoming a certified diver, with our fully equipped and PADI accredited diving club. Our diving club also offers rental of snorkeling equipment, sea kayaks and organizes private boat trips around the island.
Jamahkiri Spa, the only real spa on Koh Tao approved by the Ministry of Public Health, is well worth a visit, being the most well known on the island and offering a wide range of treatments as well as packages.
Our swimming pool, complete with waterfall feature and whirlpool, is perfect for working on your tan, having a refreshing swim, or simply relaxing in piece and quiet while enjoying the breathtaking views. And of course relaxing at the beautiful beach is only a stone’s throw away.
Outside the resort, the island has much to offer: Watersports such as apnea, waterskiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing or sailing can easily be found. On land you can go trekking, mountain biking or free climb. You can also rent a motorbike or ATV and explore the island. There is island style bowling, petanque and mini-golf. You can take Thai kickboxing lessons or simply watch a fight at the stadium. Or there is also Tai-Chi, Chi Gong and Yoga, Reiki, Foot Reflexology. And of course there are countless options for eating, drinking and shopping.
